The Hayden Lake/Greater Hayden area was not only known as being a leading recreational destination, but for its agriculture as well. Hayden grew hay, oats, wheat, and legumes and was renowned for its numerous plums, cherries, pears, and apple orchard crops. These crops resulted in packing plants in the area, with the first one being built in 1914.

This park offers your entire family endless amounts of fun. It is the Northwest’s biggest indoor water and attraction-filled park, conveniently located next to the Triple Play Resort Hotel & Suites, which is the hotel closest to the Silverwood Theme Park. Enjoy all of the outdoor and indoor fun this park has to offer. 

Bird Aviation Museum and Invention Center

Dr. Forrest Bird founded this aircraft museum. It is located within the Idaho Panhandle at 2678 W Cessna Ave. in Hayden, Idaho. The museum offers a rotating number of around 20 aircraft that date from pre-World War I up to the present day. 

Honeysuckle Beach

This beach is located on Honeysuckle Avenue’s east end that was established with just $20,000+ in donations. It is one of only two facilities with public access to Hayden Lake. Services are provided by Honeysuckle Beach for both swimmers and boaters.

Big Red’s offers a fun, hands-on animal experience all year long. You can experience things indoors as well as outdoors where the animals are dry and clean and enjoy the attention from both adults and kids. Come hang out with the reptiles, farm animals, miniatures, and exotics at Big Red’s Barn.

The summers in Sandpoint, Idaho are mostly clear, dry, and warm, while the winters are mostly cloudy and cold. For winter sports fans, winter is an excellent time to visit the area. The temperature over the course of the year tends to range from 24°F up to 86°F. It rarely goes over  95°F or below 9°F. For warm-weather activities, the best time of the year to visit the Coeur d’Alene area is early July through mid-August. 

Farragut State Park

This public recreation area is situated on Lake Pend Oreille’s southern tip in the Idaho Panhandle nestled in the Coeur d’Alene Mountains. This 4,000-acre state park is situated around thirty miles northeast of the city of Coeur d’Alene and five miles east of the town of Athol in Kootenai County. 

Hayden Lake

The city of Hayden Lake is located in Kootenai County, Idaho, United States. Situated in the northern part of Idaho, Hayden Lake is viewed as a suburb of Coeur d’Alene. At the 2010 census, the population of Hayden Lake was 574.  

Honeysuckle Beach

Honeysuckle beach provides services to both swimmers and boaters. Throughout the summer, there are qualified lifeguards on staff. It one of the Pacific Northwest’s true gems. During the summer, starting in mid-June, this beach is open from 12 pm to 6 pm. 

Moon Time

Two friends during the summer of 1995 made the decision to start their own restaurant. A year later Moon Time was opened by Brad Fosseen and John Grollmus. It was based on a simple concept of creativity. Their delicious food is combined with a broad selection of microbrews all within a comfortable atmosphere. It was based on the concept of a traditional English public house and soon became a favorite in Coeur d’Alene.

This family-owned Italian Restaurant is located in Hayden. It serves sandwiches, pizzas, and pasta. Bring your family and friends and enjoy a freshly-cooked meal!

Hayden is 30.61 miles southwest of Spokane, and 36 miles by car when the I-90 route is followed. When driving non-stop, Spokane and Hyden are 38 minutes away from each other.
